The nutritional value of meat alternatives – better than you thought

studie_hand-700x467

At the Albert Schweitzer Stiftung für unsere Mitwelt, we’ve published our first big study! The original title is »Ernährungsphysiologische Bewertung von konventionell und ökologisch erzeugten vegetarischen und veganen Fleisch- und Wurstalternativen«. This roughly translates into »A nutritional science review of conventional and organic vegetarian and vegan meat and sausage alternatives«.

You can download the full study here. The main results are also summarised in our article here (unfortunately, the study is only available in German). That’s why I’ll give you a quick English summary below. Continue reading

Vegan in Dresden

Vegan in Dresden5

Dresden, you beautiful place! Last weekend, my boyfriend and me spent a spontaneous weekend trip at Dresden, the capitol of Saxonia, just 180 km away from Berlin. We packed our little bags, threw our bikes in the back of the car and enjoyed the hottest weekend for a long time in this adorable historic city (ok, we did pre-book our Airbnb room a few days before, but for my standards, this was a very spontaneous trip ;)). We were really amazed about the vegan options Dresden (especially the part called Neustadt) has to offer, so I wanna share a few little pics with you. Continue reading

Vegan in Namibia

It’s an amazing country and one week was definitely too short! So was my food experience, but I still wanted to share my experiences with you.

Vegan Lisboa – eating vegan in Lisbon

Lissabon_4

Happy New Year! I’m gonna start the new year with a long overdue post: Eating vegan in Lisbon. About six weeks ago, I went there for work for five days. Even though it was autumn there as well and the weather kept changing, we managed to catch some sun – and eating vegan wasn’t a problem either! It’s a beautiful city and people are very friendly. This is quite a short post as I didn’t have particularly fancy food all the time, but I wanna show and encourage you to eat vegan on holiday or trips abroad, even when you don’t speak the language :)

My 2nd vegan birthday: Still lovin’ cakes!

Header

Browsing through my drafts, I noticed that I haven’t shared my birthday pictures on the blog yet – so here you are!

After my first vegan birthday last year, I celebrated my second vegan birthday (and my 26th ‘real’ birthday) at home again. After a wonderful house party in Berlin, where I was so busy chatting, mingling and having fun that I didn’t even take pictures (I thought that’s impossible!), I went back home to my parents’ and had some friends and family over for cake and dinner. See below what I cooked and baked…
