Today, there’s only a kind of quick’n’dirty easy basic recipe. As it’s summer, I’m having more and more salads – a light, healthy but filling lunch that doesn’t make you tired and gives you enough energy for the rest of your work or school day (or weekend ; )).
This one is a super simple but delicious and exotic dressing that adds a special spice to your salad bowl. It matches perfectly with mushrooms, cashews and/or corn, but also with almost every other type of salad and vegetables.
You need for one big salad bowl…
- 2 tsp all-natural peanut-butter
- 2 tsp olive, peanut, sesame or soya oil
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp mustard (with mustard seeds if available)
- 1-2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 pinch curry powder
- 1 pinch chili flakes
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4-5 tsp water to taste
Mix everything together in a small glass until well combined. Enjoy!

I consider this sauce a very german sauce… only because all the German people I have been in a WG with (the 5 I live with now, and the one I moved in with when I first came here) ALL make this kind of sauce to go with vegetables! It’s always super yummy though, so I’m glad I have the recipe now!
Oh, that’s interesting – I guess curry powder and peanuts are not the most traditional German ingredients, but it’s great to hear you enjoyed similar delicious sauces in Germany! Maybe I should call it the “unofficial German dressing” then ;) Enjoy!
